I have written about trigger shifters vs. grip shift many times. Triggers win every time. This time I want to explain the quality difference between trigger shifters.

1. Light action- the lighter the force to shift the better the trigger shifters ( because it minimizes forced on your fingers ), Many brands have great light action triggers such as Shimano, SRAM, Microshift. I would stay away from Sun Race. We used them for years, they are not as light action as the others.

2. Push push vs push pull- Push push triggers are lower end, and confuse riders when they swap bikes. Push-pull are the way to go. The learning curve on push pull is instantaneous, even when swapping bikes.

Get a bike with light action push pull triggers....you'll be happy.
