Headsets are normally ignored by riders. However they are important for safety and lightweight.

 Let's discuss the different styles:

1. Threaded Headsets- This is old school. New bikes with threaded headsets are low end. Unfortunately, I have seen expensive ebikes with these cheap heavy setups. It seems most ebikes have low end bicycle components.

2. Threadless headsets- This is lighter due to no quill. It saves about a quarter of a pound ( which is a lot for a bicycle part ). They were developed by DiaComp about twenty years ago. Every quality bike will have a threadless setup.

3. Integrated headset - These are threadless headsets where the cups are inside the headtube. It is lighter and very pretty. Most quality bicycles have integrated threadless headsets at this time
