There are many platform pedals...too many to list. I will focus on the main styles

1. Standard folding pedals

These are excellent, however the smaller bearings are more prone to failure. Plastic folding pedals don't have as much problems with bearings, but the plastic is more likely to break than the higher quality aluminum pedals.

2. Standard resin pedals

Bigger bearings are nice, but resin breaks if you hit a solid object. Additionally, your shoes may slip off of the platform.

3. BMX pedals - Extremely nice quality pedals with sealed bearings, so they should last forever. However the metal pins ( screw ) which are used as a foot grip can bash your leg if you are wearing shorts. Hence pants are preferred

4. MKS removable platform pedals

Solid bearings, and easy to take off the bike. However these are expensive at over $100, resin pedals cost under $10

Overall I love MKS removable pedals. They are smooth, high quality, and easy to pop off the bike but they cost alot of money. Cheap $9 resin pedals are always an excellent choice.
