I consider myself a pure cyclist, so I didn't get into the ebike market. Recently I spent time with ebike owners and evaluated their products. I came away unimpressed, some ebikes still use threaded headsets, and freewheel drivetrains. These are really horrible component choices for 2021! Additionally, these ebikes are more like mopeds weighing 60lbs+. They are not portable and can not be used in a multi mode environment with trains and/or buses.

I am thinking about putting a light 250W/350W front hub motor on our full suspension frame. Adding a light battery pack on the headtube interface. This bike would be under 40lbs, comfortable, stylish, and electric. What do you think? Please share your thoughts.
