Cycling through floods

This past year I moved back to Hatteras Island, which is prone to flooding. I lived at a house on a canal on Freebooter Ct. Unfortunately Freebooter would flood with a minor rainfall. Major storms caused major flooding. I estimate I biked in a flooded roads at least 50 times....probably more.
I used a Dyan with fenders and it kept me somewhat dry during the mess. I learned to lift my feet when passing through a flooded region. I also learned to push and release pressure on the handlebars to get through the floods while riding ( pedaling in water is not a good idea ).
Only once did Freebooter Ct. flood get above my bikes bottom bracket.
