After I biked across the country I agreed to run a marathon...with no training. My friends assumed I would be a good runner, they were wrong. Cycling works on completely different muscles as compared to running. The cardio from either helps the other, but I think running helps cycling more than the opposite. Regardless I was able to finish a marathon with three training runs of 5, 7.5, and 10 miles.
