Carbon is fast, light, sexy, and expensive. I used carbon extensively on my racing bikes. About 15 years ago I got my first ever carbon soled shoes. They were awesome looking, light, fast, however they were painful.... really painful. My feet hurt after every ride. I never had such a problem in my life. After some time the honeymoon was over and I gave up on carbon sole shoes. The following year I was at the Interbike trade show, and I saw Sidi ( a high end shoe manufacturer ) used cheap carbon, and cut a slit on the sole for flex. I was told the cheaper carbon is more comfortable than the high modulus type. Regardless I gave up on carbon shoes. I only use Nylon soles now, and I don't expect that to ever change. Don't buy the hot, chick, expensive stuff....get something that fits your body comfortably.
