Cycling is one of the best ways to develop your heart and lungs

Cycling is a wonderful recreational activity that has been proven to be healthy in many ways. It is a wonderful low impact activity for your heart and lungs as referenced at betterhealth. Additionally A large study published in the British Medical Association, found that regular cycling can substantially lower the incidence of coronary heart disease in half.

I have a personal story to share. At the age of 20 I was given a toxic mix of prescription medicines for a nose infection. I developed ventricular tachycardia, which is a violent heart arrhythmia. I collapsed on my way to see a doctor, it took me years to recover. I can say I fully recovered after my first cross country bicycle tour ( in my young 20's ).

I have cycled actively for the past 20+ years. After a month of cycling an average of 15+ miles per day, I can feel my lungs expand. Once my lungs expand everything changes for me...I feel great, I am able to do everything better: running, thinking, chess. You name it, and it iproves.
