A Tribute to Avon, the heart of the OBX
There are hundreds of thousands of miles of paths in the U.S. to explore on a bicycle. One of my all time favorite places is the 150 miles stretch in North Carolina, especially in and around Avon, North Carolina, where you’ll find what we call the OBX, the Outer Banks. The OBX bike paths extending from Corolla to Ocracoke include picturesque trails through forests next to the water, shoreline routes, and protected corridors through town. Their motto is “Share the Road.” What’s not to like about that!
Paying homage to Avon, North Carolina, our designers have created the Nova bike. Nova spelled backward is ''Avon.'' So you could say that his lightweight foldable bike is our tribute to the great city of Avon.
Weighing in at only 24.5 pounds, the Nova is easy to carry around, which makes it a great commuter bike. Additionally, its compact folding size makes it easy to store in any vehicle. So, it has become the bicycle that is perfect for just about everyone.
When it comes to the components, our quality is top-notch - what you have come to expect from a Downtube bike. The Nova's 8 speed cassette with trigger shift drive train makes traversing through hilly regions an almost effortless process. This bike also features a frame protector, kickstand, water bottle interface, head tube bag system interface, and front derailleur braze on - to allow for either 16sp or 24sp. This makes the frame expandable, so it will grow with you.
You can ride the Nova on any kind of terrain - from the flats to the most challenging hills. We built the Nova to handle anything. This combining of the bike's ability to handle any terrain with extreme mobility makes owning a Nova a great experience. It is truly a bike that you can take anywhere and ride anytime.
As an example of its extreme flexibility, the Nova can be adjusted for use by kids as young as 9-year-olds up to adults 6' 1" tall. The Nova is the definition of a flexible bike - a one size fits all winner.

Downtube Nova
We love this bike! It’s light and smooth I really like the trigger style shifters opposed to the revo style makes it more enjoyable to ride, and going up hills are a breeze. It’s also very comfortable geometry in that your sitting more up right instead of hunched over. I purchased this as a gift for my wife but after riding it I’m considering getting one for myself.

Cute and compact
I've only used this bike once so far. I like that it's small and can fit easily in the trunk of my car. It's also easy to fold and unfold. I got the white and black which looks great also. My only problem is that the wheels don't seem to stay fully inflated once I get on, and I can't seem to pump more air into them so it rides a little wobbly not sure if this would damage the tube or anything. Any advice?

nova lightweight
My busband and I bought this bike for some exercise during COVID. After some practice, we like it very much and are having fun. This bike is very lightweight and good value. Dr. Yan is also very personable and customer oriented. Happy to buy from his company rather than a soulless corp.

Nova
The bike works great. Was packaged well. Still had a couple minor Knicks on it due to shipping but overall in very good shape. The gears happy be adjusted but otherwise worked great out of the box. Everyone who has seen it thinks it's really cool. I use it to commute to work from parking garage located far away. Easy to throw into the back of my car and I can put it underneath my desk when it is folded up. Only odd thing is that I chose an orange bike since yellow and orange were the only two colors and in fact I received a red bike. I like red. Just would have been nice to know what colors are actually available and what color I will receive.

Downtube nova
This is my second one. I ride it in nyc and it takes quite a beating and keeps on going. Great bike and great price. And Yan’s support is amazing. You actually get to talk to a person. Thanks much.

Good bike but pieces break off?
I have enjoyed riding this bike so far--it handles much better than I expected, and has a nice range of gearing. However, some plastic pieces have started falling out/off of the main folding hinge on the body. It still seems to work just fine, but the latch is more of a pain now. It's not a make or break, but it's annoying and frustrating, since I haven't done anything rough to the bike and yet, within 3 rides parts of it are falling off.
